AIUHI's Wooden Utensils: A Gift from Nature!
I'm Daniel, a carpenter. In 2015, my wife's pregnancy with our first child brought new meaning to my life. Amid the joy, I began scrutinizing the safety of everyday kitchen utensils, and discovered harmful chemicals in plastics. Drawing on my carpentry experience, I recognized the benefits of natural materials like wood. This led me to create AIUHI, specializing in safe, sustainable wooden kitchen utensils crafted from natural materials.
Our team's focus on handcrafted wood utensils has evolved over 20 years of experimentation in the woodshop and kitchen. I hope you will enjoy the balance, function, and quality I have built into every utensil, and that they will serve you with pleasure for many years.
Wooden spoons offer several advantages over their metal counterparts. They don't quickly heat to scalding temperatures, chemically react with acidic foods, or scratch pots and bowls. They also don't melt or leach chemicals or strange tastes into hot foods as plastic does. A wooden spoon can be used to stir any dish in any type of vessel.
To care for your wooden spoons, simply wash them by hand using warm, soapy water and dry them with a towel right away. Depending on how often you use them, you should also give them an occasional oiling with food-grade mineral oil to help maintain their surface and keep them from drying out.
Wooden utensils should never go into the dishwasher, as the high heat and moisture can cause them to warp, splinter, and eventually break. Instead, store them in a well-ventilated, clean location, such as a crock beside your cooktop or a drawer.
Wooden spoons are soft and gentle on cooking surfaces, meaning they won't scratch your cast iron skillets and stainless steel pots. They also don't make that metal scraping on metal sound that can be so off-putting.
Replace your wooden spoons every five years or when they start showing signs of wear, such as cracks, discoloration, or soft spots. Avoid using food-based oils like vegetable or olive oil, and instead, periodically rub them with mineral oil or a beeswax compound.
Our products are produced by hand grinding, unified mold, and consistent size. While the actual color may vary slightly due to differences in monitor parameters, the natural beauty of the teak wood is sure to enhance your cooking experience.
